Replacement of Blatten bridge

Malters, Switzerland / 07.2010 - 12.2011

The 64-year-old road bridge in Malters, much in need of renovation, was demolished under contract to the office of traffic and infrastructure construction, Lucerne canton, and replaced with a modern construction. An important factor in the construction was protection from flooding: the new Blatten bridge prevents the waters of the Kleine Emme from flowing uncontrolled after heavy rain or snowmelt.

Flood protection with modern look.

The execution of the project began with a pile foundation, on which the two abutments were installed. The concrete construction was made possible by certain hydro-engineering measures and the installation of a shoring scaffold. The road construction and the finishing of the road surface marked the completion of this successful project.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
