Overpass restoration and footbridge construction

This project, under contract to the SBB AG, involved the restoration of the existing overpass, a heritage-listed structure spanning five full platforms. 

First of all, PORR broke apart the existing concrete slab, piece by piece. Next, the necessary anti-corrosion treatment was applied to the steel substructure of the bridge. The new concrete trough, consisting of two pre-stressed girder supports and a deck slab made from concrete, was bolted to the steel structure. A pedestrian overpass consisting of three sections across two supports, made from steel, completed the new construction.
