N02, EP Acheregg tunnel and Lopper viaduct

Before the PORR team was able to commence work on the safety measures required by this project, the rock face, which was heavily overgrown in places, first had to be cleared and cleaned. Then the required works could begin: the drilling and anchoring of the rock nails and anchors necessary for securing the safety nets. These works were carried out from scaffolding with only one lift for access.

More than 3,000m² of steel mesh netting now protects the Lopperstrasse, between the Acheregg tunnel and the Lopper viaduct, from rockfall and avalanche.
