In the past, several rockfalls and rock slides occurred along the K2b cantonal road. The existing shelters were repeatedly damaged in the process. The heavily trafficked cantonal road, which is important for accessing the surrounding communities, was also particularly affected.
PORR SUISSE AG was commissioned by the Canton of Lucerne (vif) to carry out rock stabilisation measures on a section of around 250 metres along the cantonal road in the Sparen area.

Protection through rock protection measures.
The work was carried out in difficult and exposed terrain. At a total of five rock objects, our rock engineering experts carried out anchor work and created concrete brackets to secure the rock objects. In addition, conservation measures were carried out on critical rock sections to protect them from weathering.
The comprehensive safety measures also included the construction of a rockfall protection net (3,000 kJ) and low-energy protection fences.
What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
