Chärstelen bridge, Amsteg

Amsteg, Switzerland / 2013

The Chärstelen bridge was erected in 1880 as part of the course of construction works on the Gotthard railway. Even a bridge is not immune to the passing of time: in 2013, the brake force anchoring cables and the structure’s sealing required replacement, in order to ensure the continued safe usage of the railway bridge in front of the tunnel entrance.
