Ausserfeld bridge, Stansstad

The first stage of this project, under contract to the Nidwalden Canton office of civil engineering, was the demolition of the old road bridge. After that, PORR began construction of the new Ausserfeld bridge, which was to stretch above both road (the roadway of the A2) and platforms (central railway). The best possible implementation of the project involved the construction of a pre-stressed bridge with five spans, each approximately 60m long and 10m wide. The project was completed in November 2006, after a construction period of just one and a half years.
